James Meyrat is an experienced attorney who practices in both civil and criminal litigation. He is dedicated to providing comprehensive legal services tailored to the unique needs of each client in our community. With a commitment to excellence and client satisfaction, James works diligently to guide you through the complexities of the legal system.
With more than twenty years of litigation experience, James has represented individuals, families, and small businesses in a broad range of legal matters. His practice includes real estate litigation, family law, criminal defense, estates and probate, collections, and consumer rights.
Originally licensed in Texas, James began his career in solo practice, representing individuals and families in criminal defense, family law, and probate matters. During this time, he successfully handled numerous bench and jury trials. He later expanded his practice to represent businesses in complex civil litigation, including real estate disputes, unfair trade practices, and breach of contract cases.
In 2023, James relocated to Kentucky to pursue a more faith-centered life and to serve as a criminal defense attorney with the Department of Public Advocacy. There, he built a strong record of success, achieving dismissals and reductions of serious felony charges to misdemeanors.
Outside of his legal practice, James is an avid road cyclist and a devoted father of five.
